Amos & Amos create a home for cashmere brand N.Peal in Mayfair's Burlington Arcade
Amos & Amos were comissioned by luxury cashmere retailer N.Peal to design their six room store in Burlington Arcade, London.
The duo took inspiration from the 'luxury, glamour and and aspirational quality' of the brand's past. N.Peal were founded in the 1930's and so Amos and Amos developed a concept that nodded to the Art Deco metalwork of that time.
To realise this vision the design team searched extensively to find the right craftspeople for the task at hand. Their search led them to a small British company with over 100 years experience with whom they 'developed every last junction and detail' of the metalwork frames that created the Pashmina display ladders and faceted mirrorwork.
A soft palette of ivory and aqua was chosen for the woman's sectio of the store, for the men's a warm grey. The muted tones serve as a complementary backdrop to the seasonal changes in the collection.
The N.Peal Store is situated in Burlington Arcade, Mayfair. Designed by architect Samuel Ware in the early 19th Century the building is one of Europe's earliest covered shopping arcades and to this day is patrolled by Burlington 'Beagles' dressed in top hats and frock coats.
Amos & Amos recalled N.Peal's Art Deco origins in their design concept, collaborating with master metalworkers to achieve the bespoke elements within the store.
Loose furniture elements were supplied in muted tones of soft blue and grey to allow N.Peal's collections to take center stage.
