Jump Studio create a unique, adaptable space as Google's new Madrid hub for entrepreneurs and start-ups.
Jump Studios were tasked by Google to repeat the success of their previous Shoreditch campus project for the tech company. The project included a complete overhaul of a 19th Century Battery Factory in Madrid, creating a hub for 50 start ups and 7000 entrepreneurs in a co-working environment.
Jump Studio's associate Michelle Nicholls told Dezeen 'No two start-ups are the same and this is acknowledged in our design by the creation of a variety of formal and informal spaces.'
The triple height auditorium has space for 200 people when needed for large presentations. The space can be subdivided using curtains when a more intimate smaller space is required.
Original ceiling elements have been left exposed as a nod to the buildings industrial past, the space is also flooded with natural light via the huge original fenestration.
Each meeting room has a materials palette drawn from works by Spanish artists such as Picasso, Bastida and others.
