Sans Pere Shoreditch, Atelier Baulier

Atelier Baulier's aim was to recreate the essence of the French Riviera on this bustling east London street corner. Drawing inspiration from the Mimosa tree, found in the Meditteranean; the exterior features bursts of colourful yellow Croisette chairs that contrast with the lush vegetation and silvery greens. 

The interior is a continuation of silvery green, used in the paintwork and terrazzo counters, sitting deftly against a muted palette of soft grey, white and charcoal elements. The volumes and shapes are on a domestic scale feeling personal, warm and inviting. 

Atelier Baulier is an architecture and interior design studio based in London, making high-end hospitality, retail and cultural schemes as well as sustainable residential projects.

Crisp monochrome and terrazzo detailing are softened by silvery greens taken from nature.

Dramatic pendant lighting is used in multiple to create visual interest and a sense of lightness, drawing the eye to the textures of the rough ceiling above.

The skylight makes great use of natural lighting to help illuminate this multi-functional space. Its shape echoed by the central meeting room table. 

Dusky midnight blue velvet is used throughout the space, it's texture catches the mix of natural and ambient lighting adding depth to the environment.

The natural wood panels of the interior are complemented by dark wood furniture.

Atelier Baulier chose a carefully considered blend of textures and tones taking the mimosa tree as the starting point for the design.

The mimosa inspired yellow of the Croissette chairs blends in with lush vegetation and the building exterior to transform this bustling Shoreditch street corner.
