The Market at 22 Bishopsgate, DesignLSM

Part of 22 Bishopsgate, The Market is home to a restaurant, a terraced bar, a food market, an event space and a hidden speakeasy. Multi-disciplinary studio DesignLSM were assigned the task of creating a space that focused on user experience and human interaction – further bolstering 22 Bishopgate's commitment to wellbeing, learning, equality and sustainability.

Inspired by London's historical guilds, which offered support to its members and a place to gather and exchange ideas, DesignLSM set out to reproduce these objectives. Referencing the Heraldic emblems of past guilds, a natural colour palette is interspersed with subtle brown hues and muted tones. Natural materials such as natural plaster and oak arches are used to communicate a sense of softness, balance and harmony. The result is an elegant dining space that honours the past while looking to the future.

Viaduct assisted DesignLSM with sourcing furniture for the project, including designs from Maruni, Pedrali, Zeitraum and Fest Amsterdam.
