Paul Archer Design reimagines Mount Park House, combining Victorian character with a contemporary extension and an open-plan family living space
Mount Park House brings together the character of a Victorian home and a contemporary extension by Paul Archer Design, creating a flexible family space designed around everyday living and gathering.
At the centre of the renovation, an expansive open-plan living, kitchen and dining area connects directly to the garden terrace. A generous 3.4-metre ceiling in the main reception room creates a sense of volume, balanced by more intimate proportions in the kitchen and dining areas.
Outside, a planted green roof softens the clean lines of the extension, bringing greenery into the architectural composition.
A restrained colour palette and generous windows help make the most of the soft natural light, while an organically shaped sofa introduces a relaxed, sociable focal point to the living space.
Set within a conservation area, the project carefully balances contemporary interventions with the existing home’s Victorian character.
