An evolution of Mediterranean folk furniture, the J39 chair was originally designed in 1947 by Børge Mogensen.

Its simple and versatile form soon earned it the nickname 'The People's Chair', and it has been in production ever since. Despite being conceived due to a surplus of wooden dowels and pins, the J39 is now one of Denmark's most-sold wooden chairs.

Made of solid wood, the J39 Chair features a hand-woven paper cord seat, and has a gently curved backrest for an extra level of comfort.

It is suited to a wide range of uses, both in the home and in public spaces, and has a simple aesthetic that slots easily into existing interior schemes.

We have one ex-display J39 Chair in Oak with Natural Seat.

Please note that ex-display pieces may show some signs of wear. This item is sold as seen and is therefore not available for online purchase. For more information please email [email protected] or call our showroom on 020 7278 8456.
