The Pollination Cycle Lamp was first exhibited at Milano Design Week in 2018, as part of their Supernatural Daydream project. The exhibition was greatly influenced by the Cansiglio Forest in the Italian region of Veneto, where the designers were inspired to create forms from encounters between trees and vegetation.
In Pollination Cycle, Murano glass 'gems', brass discs and spherical lenses grow outwards from a corner structure, a concept extracted from the natural world to become a work of design. Utilising familiar elements from Giopato & Coombes' Gioielli Wall Light, Pollination Cycle is a one-of-a-kind piece created through the development and reinterpretation of the pair's catalogue pieces.
