Light is contained within a compact cylinder, hiding an internal architecture manufactured with clockwork precision.

The Softspot light from Giopato and Coombes uses internal components that are stacked and self locking, negating the need for screws. With semi-transparent diffusers on both the top and bottom, both upward and downward light is emitted from the double-sided LED bulb.

The Softspot is 100% custom-made from the ceiling plate right down to the light source itself, designed for maximum cooling and ensuring both longevity and high performance.

The range is available as a pendant or wall light and comes in a choice of five metallic finishes.

Giopato & Coombes create dramatic, sculptural lighting that fuse the skills of Italian artisans with the latest technological developments

Cristiana Giopato and Christopher Coombes are the Italian/English couple behind Giopato & Coombes. Their design studio works across product, graphics, architecture and interiors. The cross pollination of these ideas often informs their lighting designs.

The duo have built up a network of Italian artisans whose craft skills play a key role in producing each design. An early example is the Bolle Chandelier; a series of delicate hand-blown bubbles illuminated by soft spot leds. Each 'bubble' is hand-blown in the Veneto region giving exceptionally precise results. ..
