The original post-war design was widely used in meeting rooms and schools, and has been faithfully reissued for the modern market. Made of elm with a beech wood frame, the Originals Stacking Chair uses Ercol's familiar tapered elements with a curved horizontal seat that provides support to the user.
With the brand's signature craftsmanship, it also utilises a remarkably sturdy Windsor wedge joint which can be seen on the seat of the chair. This Ercol classic is available in a range of natural or coloured lacquers to suit a diverse range of interiors.
Founded in 1920 by a young Italian immigrant, Lucian Ercolani, the goal was to make furniture that was well designed and made with pride by craftsmen in a good working environment.
Their Ercol Originals collection contains many of the chairs, tables and sideboards created by Ercolini in the 1950's and 60's. These pieces, such as their distinctive Quaker Chair and Loveseat continue to find a place in contemporary interiors everywhere. ..
