First designed in the 1950s by Lucian Ercolani, it employs the strength of beech and the beauty of elm to offer a timeless side chair with familiar features. The tapered, angular legs are attached to the chair using a traditional Windsor wedge joint, which can be seen on the subtly indented seat.
The All Purpose Chair's recognisable slatted back extends down beneath the seat, where it connects with a crossbar for additional support. Handmade in Britain, it is available in a range of lacquers and coloured finish to perfectly suit your space.
Founded in 1920 by a young Italian immigrant, Lucian Ercolani, the goal was to make furniture that was well designed and made with pride by craftsmen in a good working environment.
Their Ercol Originals collection contains many of the chairs, tables and sideboards created by Ercolini in the 1950's and 60's. These pieces, such as their distinctive Quaker Chair and Loveseat continue to find a place in contemporary interiors everywhere. ..
