Muller Van Severen explore the concept of creating room space within the framework of a furniture in the unique Duo Seat + Lamp
The duo lounge seat element encourages conversation and interaction between the two sitters, offering the option of a reclining or upright position. With slung seats in natural hide, the leather will develop a characteristic patina and deepen beautifully over time.
Illuminating the interaction is an integrated lamp with a white opaline glass shade, that can be rotated over each seat to cast light over a newspaper or book. The piece is built on a minimal steel framework, offering a contemporary expression with maximal functionality.
The distinction between art and design narrows when the intention of the creators is not to produce one or the other, but to just create and live. This was very much the case with Muller Van Severen's first collection.
