Founded in 1972, BD Barcelona Design is one of Spain’s most influential contemporary design brands, recognised for its experimental spirit and commitment to creative freedom. Established in Barcelona by a group of young architects and designers, the company challenged traditional furniture production by creating and publishing designs driven by originality, craftsmanship, and cultural relevance.
Over five decades later, BD Barcelona continues to shape the international design landscape through collaborations with some of the world’s most celebrated creatives. Alongside historic figures such as Ettore Sottsass, Rennie Mackintosh, and Álvaro Siza, the brand works with contemporary designers including Sabine Marcelis, Muller Van Severen, Jaime Hayon, and Konstantin Grcic — creating furniture, lighting, and objects that blur the boundaries between art and design.
