This well-loved wall lamp was originally designed in 1952, a product of Birger Dahl's creative philosophy that lights should be honest, logical and functional. Preserving the lamp's original shape, this reissue from Northern Lighting harmonises with contemporary surroundings as well as it did the surroundings of its time; a true testament to Dahl's eye for enduring design.
With its sleek lines and graphic shapes, it is a simple light with its own sense of personality, featuring an adjustable head that makes it ideal for use as a reading light. The Birdy Wall Lamp is available in off-white or matt grey colour with satin nickel finish and matt black colour with black or brass metal finish.
From their Oslo base, this Norwegian lifestyle brand work with designers and innovators around the world to produce interior lighting, furniture and home accessories that takes cues from the nuance and luminance of their local surroundings to create table, floor and pendant lights that bring the essence of Norway to spaces across the world.
Viaduct favourites include the Birdy Lamp, a Modernist Scandinavian classic, created by Birger Dahl in 1952, and relaunched by Northern in 2011. In contrast to this, the Balancer Floor Lamp by Yuue has clean, architectural lines and classic geometrical shapes that make it a decidedly contemporary form. ..
