Fusing contemporary design and traditional techniques, the table is inspired by the Japanese wood joint technique yatoi-sanetsugi. Its barrel-like base is made of individual laths that are connected at intricate angles to form its round tapered base.
In the plain grid version of this table, a pattern is laid over the bare wood, creating a compelling contrast between the grain and the graphic. Its base is enhanced by bright yellow stripes that juxtapose its natural tones. The result is a contemporary piece for the modern interior that retains a sense of playfulness and charm.
