Product Story

With a compelling interplay of shadow and light, the Trinidad Armchair is inspired by the intricate facades of the houses on the Caribbean island.

The cutout work on the curved shell back is achieved using precise, computer-controlled CNC cutting, a breakthrough technique at the time of the chair's production in 1993. Not just a decorative feature, the Trinidad's cutout back provides ventilation to the body and also allows for excellent acoustics in rooms where sound resonance should be reduced.

As such, it is a popular choice for auditoriums and concert halls, but is also a feature in many residential homes. Nanna Ditzel's Trinidad Armchair marks a milestone in the history of plywood chairs, and is offered in a vast array of colours and finishes.
