A long, extended arm on a stem that appears to defy the laws of physics, Counterbalance is the result of the technical artistry of Daniel Rybakken.
Oriented at will, the lamp is equipped with a fluid balancing system using gear wheels. The counterweight compensates for the movements of the long arm and ensures the stability of the diffuser. The lamp itself is made in black painted steel with a vaulted aluminium top, and uses using the latest developments in LED technology.
The Counterbalance Wall Lamp owes an obvious debt to Prouvé's Potence light, but Calder's Mobiles too - with it Rybakken searches for the perfect equilibrium between technicality and aesthetics, echoing past minimal classics while remaining rooted in modern-day design.
