A signature piece for the Knoll brand, the Barcelona Chair is a recognisable icon of the Modernist movement.
Harmonising both old and new, the now-iconic design is thought to be Mies's interpretation of the campaign chairs of Ancient Rome. The chair's generous dimensions are enhanced by its quilted cushions, crafted by Knoll with an expert precision. The 72 individual leather panels are cut, hand-welted and hand-tufted, while the distinctive steel frame is also ground and buffed by hand to achieve a mirror-like finish.
