Leon Ransmeier

“The only way you can create well-designed objects is by experiencing the objects yourself” - Leon Ransmeier, designer.

Leon Ransmeier is an American industrial designer who founded the design practice Ransmeier Inc., in New York in 2010.

A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, Ransmeier's notable projects include the Chiaro chair for sustainable Italian design brand Mattiazzi and his Revolver Collection for Hay. His work has been included in the permanent collection of the San Fransisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) and the Corning Museum of Glass.

Very much a hands-on designer, Ransmeier always develops full-size prototypes of his works and adheres to the idea that “use follows form”. His designs subtly challenge archetypes by encouraging us to change the way we use and perceive objects.
