Designed in 1945 as part of a 'Home for the Future' exhibition, the Spoke-Back Sofa was considered so ahead of its time that it was not manufactured until almost twenty years later.

Central to a vision of lightweight, functional furniture, the sofa features a reclining side which transforms it into a daybed. Typically of Børge Mogensen's designs, the Spoke-Back's construction is exposed from all angles; its cushions attached with visible straps. The back and armrests are distinctively slatted, evoking images of the classic Windsor chair, and it sits on a wooden frame that offers a visual transparency.
