Walter Knoll was first established in the late 1860's by Wilhelm Knoll as a supplier of leather goods to the German Royal Court. Their affinity and expertise with this natural material led them to begin making seating in the 1900's, and in 1907 Wilhelm's sons Willy and Walter took over the family business.
For over one hundred years the company have continued to produce furniture of the highest quality, their history overlaps with that of the Bauhaus and designers such as Ludwig Mies van der Rohe with whom they furnished nine apartments in total at the Weissenhof Estate.
Walter Knoll furniture could be seen in the Zeppelins of the thirties, the newly launched Berlin Tegel airport in the seventies and in homes and public spaces across the world today.
Viaduct is an official UK dealer of Walter Knoll furniture.
