Andreu World was the brainchild of Andreu Marti who was only 17 when in 1955 he decided to convert the family carpentry workshop into a producer of bentwood furniture. Based in the Valencia region of Spain, the company now works globally supplying countless public and private spaces with their indoor and outdoor collection.
The company work with several notable designers including Jasper Morrison and Lievore Altherr Molina. The latter of which designed the company's Smile Chair that blends Japanese and Scandinavian styles to form one clean aesthetic.
The wood, present in all of their production, comes from their own forests, controlled through a custody protocol that includes plantation, logging and drying. This takes more than a year following the logging – to prevent the wood from breaking in the future – and in all the handling phases. The process is covered by the FSC® Certification (Forest Stewardship Council), which guarantees wood originating from replanted and controlled forests.
Viaduct is an official UK dealer of Andreu World products.
