With a natural finish that allows the wood grain to shine through and a sympathetic combination of solid woods, the Straight Chair epitomises the artistry and craft of George Nakashima.
Reproduced from a 3D scan of the original handmade design, this 1940s piece has been faithfully replicated. The frame is constructed from solid American Walnut with turned American Walnut legs and stretchers, contrasted with lighter hickory spindles.
This choice of wood exhibits a wide scope of colour characteristics, ranging from chocolate, grey and purplish-browns to deep honey, making every item unique.
